Technology and operations consulting for businesses that need senior judgment, not more headcount.
1099 Consulting Services LLC advises small and mid-sized organizations on the systems they run their business on — and builds the software, integrations, and processes that make those systems work. Engagements are scoped in writing, delivered by the person you talk to, and documented so your team can carry them forward.

Capabilities
What we are engaged to do
Most of our work falls into four areas. Clients typically start in one and expand into others as priorities become clearer.
-
Technology advisory
Independent assessment of the systems, vendors, and architecture a business depends on. We review what exists, identify where cost and risk are concentrated, and produce a prioritized plan you can act on — including build-versus-buy analysis and vendor selection support.
-
Software development
Design and delivery of custom applications, including native iOS and macOS software, web applications, and internal tools. We handle the full cycle: requirements, prototype, build, release, and post-launch maintenance.
-
Systems integration and automation
Connecting the tools a business already pays for so data moves without manual re-entry. Typical work includes API integrations, reporting pipelines, and automating the recurring handoffs that consume staff time.
-
Operations consulting
Documenting how work actually gets done, then tightening it. We map processes, define the measures that matter, and leave behind written procedures your team can follow without us.
Engagement process
How an engagement runs
Every engagement follows the same four stages, in order. You know the scope and the cost before work begins.
-
Consultation
An introductory conversation, at no charge, to understand the problem, the constraints, and whether we are the right fit. If we are not, we will say so.
-
Scope and proposal
A written statement of work covering objectives, deliverables, schedule, assumptions, and fees. Nothing begins until it is signed by both parties.
-
Delivery
Work proceeds against the agreed scope with a standing progress update. Changes are handled through a written amendment rather than absorbed silently into the schedule.
-
Handoff
Deliverables are transferred with documentation, source code where applicable, and a walkthrough for the people who will own the work. Ongoing support is available separately.
Client profile
Who we work with
Our clients are generally past the improvised stage and not yet large enough to carry a full internal technology function. They need someone accountable who can make a decision, write the code or the procedure, and hand it over cleanly.
- Small and mid-sized businesses without a dedicated in-house technology team
- Professional services firms modernizing back-office systems and reporting
- Independent professionals and contractor-based teams standardizing their operations
- Early-stage software products needing development capacity or a second opinion on architecture
- Organizations evaluating a vendor, platform, or build-versus-buy decision
